The Coating Guru ("we", "us", or "our") operates The Coating Guru mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

The App is powered by whizzQ, a service booking platform developed by Schedmad Pvt. Ltd. Data processing and booking infrastructure is operated through whizzQ on our behalf.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

a) Information You Provide Directly

• Full name
• Mobile number
• Email address
• Password (stored in encrypted form)
• Vehicle details and service preferences (where applicable)

b) Information Collected Automatically

• Device ID (UUID) and device platform — to enable guest user access
• Location data — to show nearby businesses and service providers
• Camera access — to scan QR codes for walk-in check-in
• Contacts access — to send SMS notifications of offers and updates
• Images and local storage — for data sharing with the booking portal
• Usage data via Google Play Services and Google Analytics for Firebase

c) Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services that may collect data independently:

• Google Play Services
• Google Analytics for Firebase

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With whizzQ (Schedmad Pvt. Ltd.) as our technology platform provider, strictly for the purpose of operating the App and booking services
• With service staff at The Coating Guru locations, to fulfill your booked appointments
• With third-party analytics providers (Google Firebase) to analyse app usage
• As required by applicable law, court order, or government authority in India
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of The Coating Guru, our users, or the public

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Your data is permanently removed from primary servers immediately upon account deletion
• Backup copies are retained for up to 7 days for disaster recovery purposes, after which they are permanently deleted

Historical transaction records (booking details, customer name, email, or mobile) may be retained after account deletion solely for business record-keeping purposes.

6. How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account at any time by following these steps in the App:

• Log in to The Coating Guru App
• Open the Menu
• Navigate to Profile and tap "Delete Account"
• Confirm deletion when prompted
• Enter the OTP sent to your registered email address
• Your account will be permanently deleted

7. App Permissions

The App requests the following device permissions:

• Camera — Required to scan QR codes at service locations
• Location — Required to find nearby service centres
• Contacts — Used to send SMS updates and offers
• Storage — Required for local data sync with the booking portal

You may deny optional permissions from your device settings; however, this may limit certain features of the App.

8. Children's Privacy

In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, individuals under the age of 18 are considered children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data to us without your consent, please contact us using the details below, and we will take steps to verify and delete such data promptly.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

• Right to Withdraw Consent — withdraw your consent at any time for any or all purposes of processing, with the same ease as it was given
• Right to Grievance Redressal — raise a grievance regarding the processing of your personal data and receive a response within a reasonable timeframe
• Right to Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity

Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before such withdrawal. Withdrawing consent for essential processing (such as booking management) may limit your ability to use certain features of the App.

11. Compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

We are committed to processing personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules made thereunder. In furtherance of this commitment:

• We rely on your free, informed, specific, and unambiguous consent before processing your personal data, except where processing is permitted without consent under the DPDPA
• We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the stated purpose, or as required by law

• In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected Data Principals as required under the DPDPA
